2003-2005 Project Co-Director in 'Greco-Turkish Research on Urban Earthquakes: The cases of Istanbul and Athens', Project Approved by the Turkish Science Council (TÜBİTAK) and the Greek Science Council, under Bilateral Scientific Agreement.
2002 March-September: Appointed member in the National Ideas Competition Jury on "Safety Design of Settlements, Housing, and Public Buildings" Chamber of Architects of Turkey.
2002-2003 Consultancy to the Greater Municipality of Istanbul on "Earthquake Master Plan for Istanbul", project submitted in Collaboration with a group of experts from different disciplines and four universities.
2002- Individual Consultancy to the Prime Ministry in World Bank Project MEER A3, appointment by tender; safety planning of 6 pilot Municipalities.
2002-2003 Sustainable Implementation of Micro-Zoning Findings and Engineering Building Structure Surveys in the Monitoring of Town Planning Practice: Cases of Sakarya and Değirmendere, Research Consultancy as Lead Person to the DRM World Institute for Disaster Risk Management (with F. Krimgold, and H. Kunreuther), supported by the Swiss Government, DEZA.
1999-2000 'Physical Planning for Guiding Earthquake Preparedness, and Enabling Local Authorities: the Case of Gerede', research project carried out by the post-graduate city planning studio programme CP501-502, and financed by the Research Fund of METU (with post-graduate students and P. Gülkan).
1998-2000 METU Applied Research Revolving Fund Project: 'Management and Training Centre, Social Facilities Complex for the Central Bank of Turkey', Ankara (42'000m2), responsibilities for conceptual planning and design, project development, working details, quantity surveying, cost scheduling, and the preparation of tender documents (245 A0+ architectural, 650+ engineering drawings and all documents prepared and submitted in hard and virtual copies on CD, building permit), all completed in September 2000 (project director and copyright holder).
1997-1999 Consultancy services for the World Bank project 'Revision of the Turkish Development Law No. 3194 and Its Attendant Regulations with the Objective of Establishing a New Building Construction Supervision System Inclusive of Incorporating Technical Disaster Resistance-Enhancing Measures', competitively tendered and administered by the Housing Administration of Turkey, for the Ministry of Public Works and Settlement (with P. Gülkan and H. Sucuoğlu).
